  Nyana

“Why didn’t you smack her stupid ass?” Tashi said sitting next to me at the bar. I’ve been cooped up in the house; my choice and decided to go out and have a few drinks. Unfortunately, Sade wasn’t allowed outta Jai’s sight. If she wasn’t at work where he had people watching, she couldn’t go. And he won’t allow her to work now with the media leaking the story about Kerron. He’s afraid he’ll come for her. I understood; especially when they told me how Kerron reacted at the hospital.

“She gets a kick outta bothering me and I damn sure get one outta bothering her. You should see her face when I mention fucking Kenji. It’s fucking hilarious.”

“Yea well, make sure Rodney or Kenji records it if you do hit her.” We both started laughing.

“What’s so funny?” We turned around and this bitch Robin was standing there. I looked her up and down and sipped my drink.

  “Your outfit.”

“Whatever.” She took a seat on the opposite side of me. Tashi stood and I held her arm.

  “Not here sis.”

“Can I have a Malibu bay breeze?” She asked the bartender.

“How’s it feel tryna be me?” I spit my drink out.

  “Excuse me.” She smiled.

“You heard me.” The bartender handed her the drink.

“How am I tryna be you?”

“Let’s see. You’re laying in the bed I used to stay in, fuck Kenji in and do all types of freaky shit in. Cooking in the kitchen I fed him out of, shower where we did unimaginable things in and I’m sure the pool had to have been cleaned by now. I mean we’ve both cum inside it hundreds of times.”

“Robin, regardless of the many things you claimed to have done those things in, did it ever occur to you he may have moved? Or maybe changed every single thing in there to remove any memories you two may have had? How about the fact he no longer sleeps in the master bedroom and broke down a wall to make a new one?” Kenji changed his entire house because before moving in, I refused to live in her shadows. He even had the pool remodeled and after hearing her say that nasty shit, I’m glad he did. There wasn’t anything the same; shit the floors and paint on the walls were even different.

  “Whatever.”

“Oh it’s whatever because you assumed that petty shit you said would make me cry or act up.” I shook my head.

“Why haven’t you moved on from him?” Tashi asked and I hated to hear the crazy answer she’d come up with.

“I don’t have to because we’re still gonna be together.”

“How you figure?” I looked at her.

“When the baby comes, you won’t be first in his life and...”

“Baby?” I questioned. She had the biggest grin on her face.

  “Kenji didn’t tell you?”

“Tell me what?” Robin took another sip.

“Lizzie is about six months pregnant with his baby.”

“Six months? It hasn’t been that long since...”

“Girl they’ve been sleeping together.” She waved me off and laughed.

  “Yea right.”

“It’s the exact reason he can’t stand her and attacked her at the club. She was planning on telling you and he stopped it.” I couldn’t tell if she were lying or not.

“You sound stupid. Why would you be ok with that if y’all planned on trapping him together?” I told Tashi it’s time to go.

We’re both gonna benefit off that child support. And who knows, when he comes to get the baby, we’ll end up fucking him.” I had enough and stormed out. Not before pouring a drink in her face.

“She’s lying Ny.” Tashi said getting in the car.

“We don’t know that.” I sat down, slammed my car door and wiped the few tears falling. I’m not mad about her being pregnant because we knew it was a possibility but if she’s further along, then it means he has been with her.

“Nyana, don’t go home bugging out. Ask him first and then... what the hell?” I looked up after pulling out the parking lot and there stood Lizzie in front of my car. Her stomach was big but not where Robin said. Then again, she could be a woman who carries small.

She stared in the car smirking and I swear thoughts of running her ass over ran through my head. However; she’s pregnant and I’d never do that not knowing if the child is Kenji’s. He’d never forgive me if the kid died.

I blew the horn because she refused to move. Just as I went to back up, lights appeared in my rear-view mirror coming in at full speed.

BOOM! My car jerked forward, and my chest banged into the steering wheel and my head hit the window. I glanced over at Tashi and she was holding her head too.

“You ok?” I asked and she said yes. Then, I remembered Lizzie was standing in front of my car.

“Oh my God!” I started taking off my seatbelt. I was in pain but I had to see.

  “What’s wrong?”

“Lizzie was standing there.” Her mouth dropped open and we both hopped out. I walked around the car.

  “OH SHIT!”

  Rodney

“I’m tired of her disrespecting me. She needs to learn her place if she plans on being around here.” My mom bitched and placed her hand on top of the ninja machine to make her nasty green smoothie. I stopped by to see my father but he was out at the moment.

“You don’t think she feels the same mother? And what about Kenji? How you think he’s feeling knowing the woman he’s in love with and his mother can’t get along.” She waved me off and I walked on the other side of the island where she stood.

“She has a nasty attitude and...”

“And she’s not Robin. Nyana is not gonna allow you to run her life or away from Kenji.” I sat on the counter in front of her.

“She loves him ma and he loves her too. After all that she’s gone through over the years and recently, he’s always going to protect her. I suggest you hop on board.”

“What has she gone through besides being left on a step at an orphanage.” My mother is really a bitch.

“You know what?” I hopped off the counter.

“I just don’t understand why he can’t forgive Robin and...” I folded my arms across my chest and looked at her.

“If you caught daddy in bed with another woman, you’d forgive him? Better yet, what if he hit you in order to provoke you to retaliate. Wait, I got one better. What if the woman he cheated with made plans with her friend to have a threesome, poke holes in the condoms and get them both pregnant?” She rolled her eyes. We all knew she loved Robin because the dumb bitch let my mother play her like a puppet. However; she’s not gonna be able to do that with Nyana.

“First of all, your father may do me very good in the bedroom but if he ever in his life cheated on me, I’d pour acid on his pecker right before I jammed a knife in his chest.” I covered my mouth laughing.

“Second... a woman tried to pin a pregnancy on him in the beginning of our relationship.”

“What?” I was shocked because my parents never mentioned it.

“I think we were together for six months by then and I had just given him sex.” She put the ninja in the sink and started sipping her drink.

“You made daddy wait for sex?”

“Ugh Yea. Your father was rich and the women were throwing themselves at him. I mean we’d go out on a date and they’d still slide him their numbers.” She rolled her eyes.

“Anyway, I wasn’t playing second to anyone, nor was I playing the dumb girlfriend at home. We had sex and both of us were shocked at how good it was.” I laughed.

“Afterwards we were at it all the time. A month later, some chick he messed with prior to, accused him of cheating and said her baby was his. He tried to deny it and I would’ve believed him had she not described inside his office he just remodeled.”

  “Oh shit.”

“Exactly. Your father refused to give up on us and stayed at my house on the couch every night to prove he wasn’t with her. I ran into the woman and she claimed to have sex with him the night before and all morning.” I gave her the side eye.

“I knew it was a lie because I had alcohol in my system from going out and your father and I had sex all night and in the morning. I beat her ass in the store for lying and got arrested.”

  “Not you.” She chuckled

“Your mother may be stuck up son but your grandfather kept me in karate and some boxing classes.” I couldn’t believe it.

“In any case, your father bailed me out, took me to the courthouse and married me on the spot. We showed up in court because the bitch pressed charges and once the judge realized I was your father’s wife, he threw the case out.”

  “But how?”

“Your father and mine has connections.” She winked.

“Look Rodney.” She put the cup down.

“I’m telling you this because your father and I had our issues, but we moved past them. I want all of my kids to be happy in their relationships and figured if this is the first time she messed up, why couldn’t he give her a second chance?”

“Men are different ma. They don’t take kindly to their woman cheating and Robin was very disrespectful with it. Listen, if you don’t want to like Nyana; don’t but you’re going to push Kenji away. It’s bad enough she lost their child and...”

“She was pregnant?” I guess Kenji didn’t mention it.

“Yes and they didn’t know until the doctor told them.”

“How did she lose it?” I picked my phone up and sucked my teeth at the caller.

“It’s personal. Let Kenji tell you. I have to go.” I kissed her cheek.

“Remember what I said. Make it right or take your chances at losing Kenji.” I walked out the house and hopped in my car.

“Why are you calling me through Facebook?” I barked on the phone to this stalker.

“You changed your number again.” I pulled out the driveway.

“Because you keep getting it somehow. Look, I have a man.” I rolled my eyes as if he could see me.

“Meet me at this address please.” I listened to him rattle off some address and tried to decide if I should go. My phone beeped and I noticed my brother calling.

“I’ll think about it. Bye.” I hung up and blocked his stalker ass from Facebook too. Adrian and I are on the right track and I do not want him ruining anything.

  “Where you at?”

“Just leaving mommy’s. Why? Is Nyana ok?” I was about to turn around.

  “She good.”

“I’ll meet you at your house and go straight home.” He barked in the phone.

“Fine.” I drove with an attitude because Kenji really be acting like he’s my boss.

I’m not meeting the other guy at any address or dealing with his shit because I see it biting me in the ass.

I parked in my driveway, went inside and hurried to shower. I been out all day and felt sweaty and dirty for some reason. Adrian’s supposed to come over to discuss whatever secret he was hiding. I had to promise not to leave him, which was hard because if he cheated, I’m not sure I’d be able to stay.

  ********************

“RODNEY!” I heard after showering and getting dressed.

“I’m up here. Put it wherever you want.” It’s not the first time he dropped things off and left.

“I need you to come down here.”

  “For what?”

“Just get down here.” I took the co
vers off my legs, put my feet in my new Ugg slippers and stormed out the room.

“You always coming when I’m watching something. What the hell?” I walked down the stairs in amazement at him holding a child in a car seat. It couldn’t be any older than eight or nine months old.

“Whose baby is this? You better not had cheated on Ny.” I folded my arms across my chest and gave him attitude.

“If I did, the baby wouldn’t be this old yet fool.”

“How old is the baby?” I smiled staring down at him sleep.

“I think one or one and a half.”

“Damn he tiny.” He placed the car seat next to the couch.

“His mother is a piece of shit that’s why and wasn’t taking care of herself. He had a low birthweight and shit.” I shook my head.

“I need him to stay here until I find the bitch.”

“Wait! How you get him if you don’t have her?” I asked confused.

“The bitch left him with a friend two days ago and haven’t been back.”

“Oh she ain’t shit for real.”

“Hell no. Here’s his bag and I guess whatever he needs in it, is in there. I’ll be back.” He walked to the door.

“Ok.” He stepped out leaving me with this child.

I locked up and took the baby out the car seat. He stirred in his sleep a little and got comfortable on my chest. He was sweating like crazy.

I grabbed a wipe and just as I went to wipe him, the doorbell rang. I walked over assuming it was Adrian but came face to face with the guy who keeps calling.
